Providing wayfinding in hospitals has become increasingly important because it removes the need to have staff members permanently employed to give visitors directions. In a very busy hospital, such as Great Ormond Street Hospital, which has hundreds of visitors a day, providing an efficient, automated wayfinding service is essential. It also means the visitor’s journey from entrance to patient on the ward is made in the fastest possible time.
Following an extensive beauty parade of different types of kiosk from different suppliers GOSH chose four Cleartouch kiosks provided by Cammax. The Wayfinding Software created for GOSH is particularly effective in that it is animated and in 3D, so gives visitors a very real perspective of their surroundings. The Peter Pan animation is particularly effective given that it is a Children’s Hospital.
