Transport Ticketing Global 2025 (TTG) has now come to a close, and as we settle back in at our Castleford head office, the Cammax team is reflecting on what was an incredible two days at Olympia London. This year’s event was particularly exciting for us, marking our first TTG appearance as part of the Modaxo family, and we couldn’t have asked for a better opportunity to showcase our latest innovations alongside key players in the industry.
From thought-provoking conference sessions to valuable conversations with industry peers, TTG once again cemented its reputation as the world’s premier Smart ticketing expo. The exhibition floor was buzzing with energy as transport authorities, operators, and technology providers came together to discuss the future of Smart ticketing and mobility solutions. It was an event filled with innovation, collaboration, and forward-thinking discussions, and we were thrilled to be at the heart of it all!
As expected, TTG 2025 provided a platform for some of the most important conversations shaping the future of ticketing and transport technology. A major theme this year was Artificial Intelligence (AI), with plenty of debate exploring how AI-driven ticketing solutions are enhancing everything from fare optimisation to fraud detection. As transport networks become more interconnected, AI is playing a crucial role in creating data-driven, personalised travel experiences. It was fascinating to hear how operators are harnessing AI to streamline operations and improve customer satisfaction.
The transformation of the overall passenger experience with next-generation ticketing solutions was another hot topic, with industry leaders sharing insights on how innovative ticketing technologies are helping to create more seamless, accessible, and user-friendly journeys. These discussions aligned perfectly with our own mission to develop solutions that enhance the passenger experience at every touchpoint.
Amongst the packed conference agenda, several expert presentations caught our attention, including Paul Smith’s insightful talk on ‘Simplifying Long-Distance Fares in UK Rail’. As Head of Revenue Strategy & Optimisation at LNER, Paul tackled one of the most persistent challenges facing the rail industry today, the complexity of fare structures that often leaves passengers confused and frustrated. His practical approach to simplification, focusing on transparency and customer-centric design, resonated strongly with our own philosophy of making ticketing more intuitive and accessible.
Equally compelling was Kamelia Jones’s forward-looking presentation on the National Rail Ticketing Strategy. As Strategy Lead for Digital Ticketing Service at the Rail Delivery Group, Kamelia detailed how RDG and Great British Railways Transition Team (GBRTT) are collaboratively developing a comprehensive plan to phase out magnetic stripe ticketing over the next five years.
This transition is a pivotal moment for the rail sector, as magstripe tickets have long been associated with issues such as fraud, lost tickets, and outdated infrastructure.
With the industry moving towards more secure and technologically advanced ticketing methods, this is an area where Cammax is already making a significant impact. Our Smart Rail Ticket Vending Machine (TVM) is designed to transcend the limitations of magstripe tickets, offering passengers two next-generation alternatives. Firstly, travellers can obtain barcode Smart tickets, printed onto receipt rolls directly from the machine. Secondly, our TVMs encode Smart tickets onto Smart cards, allowing passengers to either download their ticket onto an existing Smart card or receive a newly encoded Smart card at the point of purchase.
As well as lively presentations and panel discussions, TTG is the ultimate place for demoing the latest technology, and our impressive stand became a focal point for attendees eager to experience cutting-edge ticketing solutions first-hand. During the two-day expo we proudly displayed our latest range of Smart TVMs, with our award-nominated Smart Rail TVM generating significant interest.
Visitors were captivated by how this innovative machine functions as a dynamic “shop window” for train operating companies (TOCs), displaying their entire product range and ensuring passengers can access every available ticket type. Many attendees spent time with our helpful team learning about the machine’s integration with SilverRail’s Ticket Issuing System, which ensures pricing consistency with online platforms and allows passengers to purchase tickets up to 90 days in advance.
Alongside our flagship rail solution, our high security TVM option also garnered attention, with industry professionals examining its advanced mechanical security features and real-time intelligent monitoring capabilities. Meanwhile, the flexibility of our latest outdoor and wall-mounted machines, accepting both cash and cashless payments, sparked numerous conversations about meeting diverse passenger needs.
Throughout both days, our dedicated team held engaging discussions about how our solutions can be tailored with partner-requested functionality- whether that’s specific payment methods, unique user interfaces, or integration with existing systems. This customisation capability resonated strongly with transport authorities looking for technology that could be precisely aligned with their operational requirements rather than off-the-shelf products that might require compromise.
The feedback we received at TTG 2025 was overwhelmingly positive, with visitors consistently praising our machines’ intuitive design and innovative features. Many commented on how our solutions effectively balance sophisticated functionality with user-friendly interfaces- a crucial consideration for public-facing transport technology.
Industry peers were particularly impressed by our approach to real-world challenges, appreciating how our systems address both operational efficiency for transport providers and improved experiences for passengers. Our team shared insights from successful deployments with East Midlands Railway, Nottingham Trams (NET), and Bristol City Council, demonstrating our proven track record across different transport modes and environments.
The timing of our TTG appearance couldn’t have been better, coming just days after the launch of our Metro Smart Ticket Vending machines across the West Midlands Metro network. Since February 26th, a total of 39 Metro Machines have been operational at stops throughout the network, allowing tram users to purchase tickets via a variety of payment methods. This significant deployment represents a perfect embodiment of Metro’s vision to create a more accessible, convenient tram service that meets the needs of today’s passengers.
With TTG 2025 now behind us, we’re already looking forward to next year’s expo, where we’re sure even more exciting developments in Smart ticketing will be unveiled. However, the Cammax team isn’t slowing down- far from it! We’re already gearing up for the next major event in our calendar: Parkex 2025.
Parkex, Europe’s flagship parking event, is hosted by the British Parking Association and will take place at the CBS Arena in Coventry from 21st-22nd May. This gathering will provide another fantastic platform for us to showcase our expertise, this time focusing on our advanced parking solutions. We’ll be sharing more details about our plans for Parkex in the coming weeks, so stay tuned for updates!
For now, we’d like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who visited us at TTG. Your enthusiasm, insights, and feedback were invaluable, and we’re excited to continue driving innovation in Smart ticketing. See you at the next event!
